CONSIDER CABINETS FIRST WHEN PLANNING KITCHEN DESIGN

The cabinets set the tone of the entire room. It’s a crucial part of any kitchen remodel and also takes a major percentage of the remodeling budget, sometimes going as high as 30 to 50%.

D’Best Floorz & More is a family-owned-and-operated business that, since 1995, boasts of a roster of over 55,000 satisfied customers. Our history is not only interesting, but it will show you our fast level of success:  We originally began as a carpet cleaning service, but expanded in three years to include an inventory of flooring. Then we expanded even more several years later, opening five locations and adding services like the kitchen and bath design.

Why you should replace your floors before installing the cabinets

If you are doing a full kitchen remodel, always install the floors first. If you do it the other way around, there will be height issues and that will limit your choice of flooring, and possibly even create issues with appliances.

Kitchen cabinets
are approximately 36-inches above the floor; appliances are attached to the subfloor. If you later choose to replace an appliance, it can get “trapped” under the floor and you’ll have to rip up part of the floor to remove it.

Kitchen cabinet styles

There are many styles and the one you select will depend upon your kitchen design, your style, and how well the cabinets coordinate with other elements such as lighting and countertops. The most well-known style is Shaker, which is classic and flat-paneled. You can get others, such as those with or without frames, so talk to your retailer.

Much of your choice will depend upon budget: Do you want stock, which is factory-made and comes in standard color and sizes. Semi-stock allows for a little tailoring. With custom, a design is created and  the specs are sent to a workshop to be built.
