You can always count on these three types of flooring to be the best bet for your kitchen. They’ll never let you down, because they’re all waterproof, durable and stylish.
Want an idea of what these floors would cost? We make it easy and fast (almost instantaneous!), because all you need to do is text our business! Text us a photo, including the square footage and we’ll text you back in about 20 minutes.
Tile: Just try to crack one; it’s almost impossible, and if it does crack so what? You only need to replace the damaged tile and not the whole floor.
With such a large assortment of colors, shapes and sizes–not to mention the colorful grout choices– you can create your own unique design.
Worried about budget? No problem! Use a more plain material on larger square footage, add a couple of highly designed ones as accents–and maybe even throw in a little colorful grout.
Here’s another benefit, Florida. It’s a great heat conductor so if the room is chilly, that will be transferred to you and you’ll also feel cool.
Luxury vinyl: You can get it cut into tile or plank-sized pieces for an amazingly realistic–thanks to high definition photography– mimic of wood or tile. By the way, you can’t “walk off” the image; there’s a clear, strong, protective wear layer on top that makes it scratch-resistant and waterproof.
For even more realism, it is available with textures that can make it look wire-brushed, distressed or even antiqued. That gives it greater depth and dimension. Never mind the kitchen only–if you have kids, it’s considered one of the best flooring materials there, too.
Waterproof flooring: (WPC–”wood plastic composite”). This is an ideal flooring choice if, like me, you have a leak-prone kitchen. A relative newcomer to the market, this is an engineered luxury vinyl product that is completely unaffected by liquids.
What about wood?
People do love the look of wood flooring in the kitchen, but water is the mortal enemy of solid hardwood and can damage it beyond repair. If the room is prone to leaks, it won’t be recommended. While engineered hardwood is more stable and water-resistant it, like laminate, can be problematic. Talk to your pro to discuss your challenges and solutions.
